The Awareness and Action Continuum
The CPCEE program incorporates a learning methodology adopted from the Awareness and Action Continuum. The Awareness to Action Continnum has been developed in the field of Environmental Education as a functional step-by-step model based on the Tbilisi Final Report from the Intergovernmental Conference on Environmental Education (UNESCO 1978). It includes 5 distinct phases of learning that ICEE has adopted throughout all of its coursework and hopes that through an interdiciplinary approach to cultural and environmental education one can experience the 5 phases of learning. The 5 phases are as follows:
- Awareness and Appreciation
- Knowledge and Understanding
- Attitudes & Values
- Problem Solving Skills
- Personal Responsibility & Action
